Nhien Lu (Tee Jay) (They/Them)

Nhien Lu, also known as Tee Jay, was born in Southern Vietnam and moved to San Francisco, California at the age of 13. They began his academic journey at the Community College of San Francisco and later transferred to San Francisco State University, where they pursued a bachelor’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. While they finds joy in studying cell and molecular biology, Tee Jay is also interested in exploring other fields of biology such as microbiology and immunology. Outside of academic pursuits and time in the lab, Tee Jay finds pleasure in creating craft cocktails and cooking. Being unprepared for things is a source of stress for them, so they values being well-prepared. Tee Jay appreciates the support of others checking in on him from time to time and offering kindness. Tee Jay enjoys learning new biology concepts, accompanied by the soothing sounds of Lofi playlists or alphawave music, all while savoring a cup of Philz coffee. With friends, they delights in playing board games, watching movies, or going camping together.
